Meet Glyph Community
A Singapore-registered charity supporting children aged 5 to 12 from lower-income or vulnerable households through holistic weekend enrichment programmes.
glyphcommunity.com →A hands-on curriculum that brings Chinese culture and stories to life for Glyph Community's kids, designed by Singapore American School's YACS high-schoolers.
YACS members are developing this curriculum together with Glyph Community. This page keeps a record of the work as it happens!
Our curriculum goes beyond the Chinese festivals children may already know from school, exploring the lesser-known stories, traditions, poetry, symbolism, and regional differences behind them! It also introduces children to Chinese literature and history through topics such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, famous idioms, classical legends, and historical figures.
Through games, role-play, crafts, and challenges, each session will give children a fun, hands-on way to discover something new about Chinese culture.
